The holiday of giving thanks began with a rough start in Albuquerque. Although injuries could have been far worse, early reports suggest that both the driver and passenger were conscious at the scene and transported to University of New Mexico Hospital.

An Albuquerque car accident is not uncommon, but having two serious Albuquerque car accidents with minutes of each other is.  However, that is exactly what happened recently when two serious car accidents occurred with five minutes of each other.  The first accident happened on Paseo del Norte and Lowell when a vehicle rolled and caused serious injuries to an adult and child.  The Albuquerque accident resulted in an occupant of the vehicle being ejected and a rescue helicopter being called in.

New Mexico accident crews responded to an Albuquerque semi truck accident recently.  Although the Albuquerque accident is still under investigation, crews have confirmed that a semi truck was involved. Early reports suggest that although this was a serious truck accident, injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.  In addition to the semi truck, it appears that two other vehicle were also involved in the Albuquerque accident that occurred near Coors and I-25.

A single vehicle rollover accident outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico has resulted in the death of one man. Remarkably, there appears to be no witnessed the accident as it was discovered by a Bernalillo County Sheriff’s officer on a routine patrol. Upon arriving at the scene, the deputy noticed that both occupants, a man and a woman and had been ejected from the vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee.

Thus far, authorities believe that the woman was driving while the man, now deceased, was a passenger in the Albuquerque area car accident. According to the investigation, it appears that neither accident victim was wearing a seatbelt as both were ejected from the vehicle. One of the unique issues presented by the accident is whether the use, or lack thereof, of a seatbelt can affect recovery in New Mexico accidents.

Regarding this issue, New Mexico law seems to suggest that the failure to use a seatbelt is not admissible as evidence of comparative fault in New Mexico accidents. Comparative fault would suggest that the injured passenger is partially responsible for his or her injury as a result of failing to wear a seatbelt. The investigation has also led authorities to believe that the woman was drinking while driving and they have been intoxicated. As is often times the case in such accidents, the driver’s injuries are reported as minor.

A driver involved in an Albuquerque car accident fled the scene after injuring two people. The accident happened near I-25 and Paseo Del Norte. The driver caused the accident when he struck a truck carrying an 18 and a 12 year old. As is common with many accidents in which the driver flees the scene, the police found drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.
